Fourth Deloitte report on Oil and Gas Review in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq – Q2 of 2018

Today, Regional Council for Oil and Gas Affairs has published new verified data on the Kurdistan Region’s oil exports, consumption and revenues, covering the period from 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018, after a review of the sector by the international “Big 4” audit and consulting firm, Deloitte.

The Regional Council for Oil and Gas Affairs acknowledges the positive feedback received from stakeholders, including the international community, and reiterates its commitment to the people of Kurdistan that the two international audit firms, Deloitte and Ernst & Young, will continue to independently review the oil and gas sector, inclusive of all the streams.

As part of our arrangement with international auditing firms, it was agreed that both auditing firms will assist Kurdistan Regional Government in training and developing local resources. The Regional Council for Oil and Gas Affairs, in coordination with Deloitte, arranged a 3-days Oil and Gas training workshop, from 23-25 October 2018, which was attended by 15 participants from Board of Supreme Audit.

This was the first batch from Board of Supreme Audit receiving industry training and a plan is being prepared for more training of selected candidates from Board of Supreme Audit to equip-them with modern auditing techniques and oil and gas industry knowledge.

Oil Exports Revenues Fall in November

Iraq’s Ministry of Oil has announced interim oil exports for November of 101,156,808 barrels, giving an average for the month of 3.372 million barrels per day (bpd), a decrease from the 3.478 bpd exported in October.

These exports from the oilfields in central and southern Iraq amounted to 100,895,342 barrels, while exports by the North Oil Company amounted to 261,466 barrels.

Revenues for the month were $6.180 billion at an average price of $61.090 per barrel.

Oil Ministry Finalises Export Figures for October

Iraq’s Ministry of Oil has announced final oil exports for October of 107,821,261 barrels, giving an average for the month of 3.478 million barrels per day (bpd), a slight decrease from the 3.560 bpd exported in September.

These exports from the oilfields in central and southern Iraq amounted to 107,530,008 barrels, giving $7.898 billion in revenue, while exports by the North Oil Company amounted to 291,253 barrels, giving revenues of $10,339,481.

Revenues for the month were  $7.908 billion at an average price of $73.348 per barrel.

Oil Exports Revenues Rise in October

Iraq’s Ministry of Oil has announced interim oil exports for October of 107,530,008 barrels, giving an average for the month of 3.469 million barrels per day (bpd), a slight decrease from the 3.560 bpd exported in September.

These exports were entirely from the southern terminals, with no exports registered from Kirkuk via Ceyhan.

Revenues for the month were  $8.055 billion at an average price of $74.912 per barrel.

GKP confirms Shaikan Payment

Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP) has confirmed that a gross payment of $27.0 million ($21.2 million net to GKP) has been received from the Kurdistan Regional Government for Shaikan crude oil sales during May 2018.

Oil Ministry Finalises Export Figures for June

Iraq’s Ministry of Oil has announced final oil exports for June of 105,640,161 barrels, giving an average for the month of 3.521 million barrels per day (bpd), an increase from the 3.490 bpd exported in May.

These exports were entirely from the southern terminals, with no exports registered from Kirkuk via Ceyhan.

Revenues for the month were  $7.264 billion at an average price of $68.758 per barrel.

The oil was shipped by 38 international companies from the ports of Basra, Khor Al-Omaia and the SPMs on the Gulf.

Iraq’s Ministry of Oil has announced interim oil exports for June of 105,640,160 barrels, giving an average for the month of 3.521 million barrels per day (bpd), an increase from the 3.490 bpd exported in May.

These exports were entirely from the southern terminals, with no exports registered from Kirkuk via Ceyhan.

Revenues for the month were  $7.323 billion at an average price of $69.322 per barrel.

These exports were entirely from the southern terminals, with no exports registered from Kirkuk via Ceyhan.

Revenues for the month were  $7.551 billion at an average price of $69.801 per barrel.

Genel, DNO, receive KRG Payment for March

Genel Energy and DNO have said that the Tawke partners have received $62.19 million from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) as payment for March 2018 crude oil deliveries to the export market from the Tawke licence.

Genel’s net share of the payment is $15.52 million.

The Taq Taq partners have received a gross payment of $6.20 million from the KRG for oil sales during March 2018; Genel’s net share of this payment is $3.41 million.

Genel has also received an override payment of $8.37 million from the KRG, representing 4.5% of Tawke gross licence revenues for the month of March 2018, as per the terms of the Receivable Settlement Agreement.

In total, Genel’s net share of payments relating to March 2018 exports totals $27.30 million.

GKP Receives Further Payment from KRG

Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP) has confirmed that a gross payment of $19.7 million ($15.5 million net to GKP) has been received from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for Shaikan crude oil sales during March 2018.
