Iraq has reportedly taken delivery of its first batch of rail tankers from Turkey.
According to Daily Sabah, the first 50 units, manufactured by Cryocan, were sent by truck, with a further 400 units still to be made.
The tankers will be used by Iraq Republic Railways (IRR) to transport oil and fuel.

Turkish engineering firm Ergil has completed the design, engineering and fabrication of a pig launcher and pig receiver system at Iraq’s Majnoon oil field.
According to Wikipedia: “In pipeline transportation, pigging is the practice of using pipeline inspection gauges, devices generally referred to as pigs or scrapers, to perform various maintenance operations. This is done without stopping the flow of the product in the pipeline. These operations include but are not limited to cleaning and inspecting the pipeline.“
Ergil is owned by German company Äager.

Iraq has reportedly cancelled a contract to develop its Mansuriya gas field near the Iranian border.
Iraq Business News understands that, under a deal agreed in 2010, the field was being developed by Turkish Petroleum (TPAO) (37.5%), Iraqi Oil Exploration Company (25%), Kuwait Energy (KEC) (22.5%), and Kogas (15%).
According to Reuters, the consortium halted development in 2014 due to security concerns after the so-called Islamic State group overran large parts of Iraq.
Writing in Oil Price, Simon Watkins says “Russia has again made it clear that it is extremely interested in taking over the development contract of Iraq’s Mansuriya gas field following the recent termination of the contract with a consortium led by Turkey’s state-owned TPAO.”

The assistance comes as Turkey continues its war against Kurdish militants in the country, despite opposition from Baghdad.

At the Halifax Security Forum, an annual event attended by high-powered government officials, business titans and assorted other movers and shakers from across the globe, national security adviser Robert O’Brien took the stage with PBS’ Nick Shifrin and let the cat out of the bag.
When the veteran correspondent grilled O’Brien Nov. 23 about President Donald Trump’s decision to keep US troops in northeastern Syria “for the oil,” noting that the Pentagon’s Syrian Kurdish allies were selling it to the Syrian regime in defiance of sanctions, O’Brien responded, “Some of it goes to the regime. Some of it is used locally. Some of it goes to Iraqi Kurdistan. Some of it goes to Turkey.
The key, though, is not where the oil goes but where the revenue goes.” The main thing, he concluded, was to ensure that none of it got to the Islamic State.

Turkish mills’ pipe exports to Iraq have reportedly risen by 10.3 percent year-on-year for the first three quarters of this year.
According to S&P Global Platts, Iraq bought 139,000 mt of steel pipe during the period.

Iraq’s Ministry of Oil has announced oil exports for September of 107,276,327 barrels, giving an average for the month of 3.576 million barrels per day (bpd), down from the 3.603 million bpd exported in August.
These exports from the oilfields in central and southern Iraq amounted to 103,010,306 barrels, while exports from Kirkuk amounted to 3,166,848 barrels, and from Qayara 877,196 barrels. Exports to Jordan were 221,977 barrels.
Revenues for the month were $6.345 billion at an average price of $59.149 per barrel.

Iraq’s Ministry of Oil has finalised oil exports for July of 111,706,135 barrels, giving an average for the month of 3.603 million barrels per day (bpd), up from the 3.556 million bpd exported in July.
These exports from the oilfields in central and southern Iraq amounted to 107,520,044 barrels, while exports from Kirkuk amounted to 3,253,665 barrels, and from Qayara 928,947 barrels. Exports through Al-Samoud refinery to Jordan were 3,479 barrels.
Revenues for the month were $6.413 billion at an average price of $57.407 per barrel.
